Photo-Voltaic Systems
The wind loading on a roof mounted solar panel is calculated for different wind directions and strengths in order to ensure that the supporting brackets and roof are of sufficient strength. This is of particular importance in panels that are retrofitted to existing structures.
Anaerobic Digestion
This process uses micro-organisms to break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. This can be used for waste management as well as the production of biogas suitable for energy production, helping to replace fossil fuels. In order to optimise process conditions the flow of material through a tank employing a mechanical draft tube was simulated.
